What inspired you to create your business?
It was probably a desire to combine my expertise and utilise in a creative industry. Having spent many years managing corporate and not for profit events for large and medium organisations, I decided to apply my skills, setup my business and take on a new direction.
How long have you been in business?
Do you live or work by a particular motto?
Not necessarily a motto, but I often get asked where ‘Moxie’ comes from. It means ‘force of character, determination, or nerve’ – all of which helps in business, and in weddings too! I do believe in being yourself, being brave and following your dreams.
How do you go above and beyond for your customers?
Well, you’ll probably have to ask my clients about that. But hopefully they would say nothing is too much trouble. I listen and give advice, I’m pretty good at finding a solution to most problems – doesn’t matter how random! My clients use me as a sounding board, and at times an agony aunt too!
What are your wedding trend predictions for 2019 (Be specific to your service for example, hair trends for 2019 or cakes or styling)?
So, for me it’s about the shift in trend when considering all aspects of a wedding. Couples are becoming more forward thinking, and instead of opting for this year’s colour pallet, or theme, they are considering what best fits their personalities and vibe they want to achieve. Times are changing, we are seeing far more choice in terms of locations and suppliers and with consumer demand on the rise, and hopefully this is a trend that will continue to grow in the future.
What you your best piece of advice be to a couple or bride just starting their planning journey?
Hire a planner! (Ha, I have to say that!) Okay, consider your personalities, what vibe you’d like to achieve and work out your budget. Do your research and lots of it. You can enlist the help of a planner at any stage of the planning process. We offer bespoke services based on the needs of our clients, and for any duration, whether that be right at the beginning or close to the wedding day.
What is your favourite season for a wedding and why?
I really don’t have a favourite, I love weddings any season!
We have seen some incredible examples of your work. What has been your proudest moment to date?
I can’t pin it down to one, but it’s got to be helping couples achieve their dream wedding – receiving thank you cards and letters is so gratifying.
What has been your biggest challenge to date?
Probably finding a suitable venue on a modest budget, within a short space of time. A client had booked their venue before hiring us and for various reasons decided they wanted to change the location. We had to start from scratch, with lots of last-minute planning, but ultimately it was the best decision and they were super pleased with the outcome.
What can we expect to see from you in the near future?
More of the same! Creating individual, eye-catching wedding inspiration through styled shoots and working with some amazing clients, sharing their vision and delivering stand-out weddings!
